Designing for Dignity: Disrupt Workforce

In 2023 HealthTech 4 Medicaid (HT4M) continued the “Designing with Dignity” series to highlight the equitable and inclusive design of products, services, delivery systems and capital markets. Our goal is to reestablish the design framework and ultimately uplift and include traditionally underrepresented communities, including those on Medicaid, in the design process.

Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic and shifts in U.S. demographics, presenting challenges like workforce shortages, rising expenses, inflation, capacity constraints, and unpredictable spikes in demand, “Designing for Dignity: Disrupt Workforce” emerged as a crucial webinar. We heard from Jeff Oxendine, Founder of Health Career Connections, followed by a panel moderated by Adimika Arthur, Executive Director of HealthTech 4 Medicaid (HT4M), featuring Elizabeth DuBois, Principal & Chief Operating Officer at COPE Health Solutions; Jen Diehl, Human Performance, Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Executive at Adventist Health; and Dr. Ben Kornitzer, Chief Medical & Quality Officer at agilon health. This webinar delved into the realm of creative, human-centered innovation, translating novel solutions into practical success in the real world. The webinar provided valuable insights into how provider systems and consultants addressed strategy, analysis, and financial modeling as generative design tools, and served as a platform to transform workforce challenges with long-term viability and sustainability.
