Venture 4 Medicaid

Millions of Americans face healthcare disparities due to limited access and quality issues within Medicaid. Historically, Medicaid has been underinvested in compared to other healthcare payers, and this lack of private sector attention hinders its improvement. To bridge this gap and provide equitable, high-quality healthcare, we need to encourage greater entrepreneurial and investor involvement in the Medicaid ecosystem. This program seeks to transform the Medicaid landscape and create compelling investment opportunities while fostering equity, improving healthcare quality, and enhancing delivery systems. The primary goal of V4M is to empower positive change within Medicaid through strategies that promote entrepreneurial engagement, investment and ultimately impact the lives of 94M Medicaid recipients. To achieve this, we will focus on the following areas:

Supporting Venture Capital and Private Equity Investment

Equitable and Inclusive Innovation

Advancing Value-Based Care Investments

Through these focused efforts, the Venture 4 Medicaid initiative will not only champion healthcare equity and quality, but also serve as a catalyst for savvy investors looking to participate in the transformation of Medicaid, making it a lucrative and impactful investment landscape.

State of Birthing Health Equity

The “State of Birthing Health Equity” webinar series by HealthTech 4 Medicaid (HT4M) serves as a comprehensive exploration of sexual, reproductive, maternal, and birthing health equity within the Medicaid landscape. Our mission is to ensure high-quality, equitable, and accessible care for birthing people, their families, and communities. Public Health Innovation

Conversation around reimagining public health and ensuring continuous access to essential care, especially for communities facing healthcare barriers, is critical now more than ever. In fact, as the pivotal role of technology and community-centered care in shaping the future of public health, particularly for Medicaid beneficiaries and vulnerable communities, we face an imperative now to harness valuable learnings and foster active collaboration to revolutionize public healthcare access for all. The ongoing engagement and collective action arising from this dialogue will be the catalyst propelling us toward a healthier and more equitable tomorrow.

Determined to Redetermine

During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE), Medicaid disenrollment or member “churn” was paused in every state in exchange for enhanced federal funding. However, on December 29, 2022 The Consolidated Appropriations Act was signed into law, which called for the end of continuous coverage as of March 31, 2023. As states have resumed Medicaid disenrollment, approximately 13+ million people have lost their Medicaid coverage. As we navigate through one of the most significant healthcare transitions since the Affordable Care Act, HealthTech 4 Medicaid (HT4M) remains committed to highlighting and disseminating crucial information, valuable resources, and innovative solutions that directly affect Medicaid members and stakeholders.

Design for Dignity

A vibrant campaign that unravels compelling stories of intentional design across diverse organizations and communities. Through these narratives, we gain practical insights and are inspired to infuse dignity into our work. We explore how we to best harness equitable and inclusive design and human-centered methodologies, ensuring that the most impacted, underrepresented, and underserved populations are not just included but centered in the design process and outcomes. Together, we can reshape narratives and build environments that champion respect, empathy, and equitable health experiences for all.

Improving Care for Older Adults on Medicaid through Innovation

HealthTech 4 Medicaid (HT4M)’s older adult work focuses on fostering meaningful engagement and driving innovative solutions to enhance Medicaid care for: Individuals enrolled in both Medicaid and Medicare, otherwise known as “Dual Eligibles” Individuals in the “Forgotten Middle” who do not qualify for Medicaid but cannot afford necessary care.

Our aim is to ensure that all older adults receive the support and services they need, as these populations often face complex healthcare needs and challenges in navigating and accessing equitable care.

Through community events and strategic partnerships, we aim to educate investors and entrepreneurs about the nuances of Medicaid for older adults, promote the equitable and inclusive design of products and services, and support the development and scaling of innovations tailored to the needs of these vulnerable populations. By creating a collaborative ecosystem that includes diverse stakeholders, we strive to address the unique challenges faced by older adults in the Medicaid system and improve their quality of life.
