Reflecting on 2024’s impactful “Future of Medicaid Innovation Forum,” we witnessed a mosaic of human experiences, a convergence of visions, and a shared sense of purpose. With over 400 attendees present and hundreds more online, the event sparked introspection on the future of Medicaid in 2024.

Under the theme of ‘Medicaid Futurism,’ the event emphasized the importance of every voice in shaping a healthcare future that is innovative, equitable, and inclusive. Participants were urged to join the movement for radical change, contributing stories, visions, and ideas to forge a healthcare system that reflects the diverse needs and dreams of its community. Future of Medicaid Innovation Forum 2023

If you were among the hundreds in-person and over 500 online attendees at our 6th annual “Future of Medicaid Innovation Summit” on January 10, you heard the charge for 2023: HealthTech 4 Medicaid (HT4M) is on a mission to intentionally disrupt patterns of inequity, leading to the crumbling and transformation of existing systems! Our goal is to rebuild more equitable ones globally. At this year’s forum, we showcased radical change and steps to create a quality, equitable, and accessible healthcare experience for Medicaid members nationwide, with a special emphasis on disruption. And with the end of the Public Health Emergency approaching, we face the challenge of redetermining nearly 90+ million people on Medicaid, ensuring their continued coverage. Millions of lives are at stake, and we must buckle together to disrupt determinants, dignity, and dollars.

Future of Medicaid Innovation Forum 2022

During the 40th Annual J.P. Morgan Health Care Conference, HealthTech 4 Medicaid (HT4M) hosted our 2022 Future of Medicaid Innovation Forum, bringing together over 450 industry leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders, with a spotlight on Medicaid. With impactful contributions on the main stage, HT4M, now an independent 501c3 organization, marked a pivotal moment in its 5-year journey. Our event featured two major announcements: the ratification of a new strategic plan and internal capacity building, and the launch of a Health Equity Heroes campaign to drive accountability in the health equity space.

Future of Medicaid Innovation Forum 2020

On January 14th, 2020, Health Tech for Medicaid (HT4M) curated a morning session of experts and innovators highlighting those making bold moves in Medicaid. Medicaid is a joint state-federal health insurance program that covers one in five Americans—including elderly and disabled individuals, and 40% of all U.S. kids.

This event was a joint-led effort to learn about new strategies, share perspectives and stories of innovating better healthcare to people who are being served by Medicaid and underscoring the importance of technology-enabled innovation in building better options to higher quality and lower cost care. We aim to create a collective movement with experts, innovators, decision-makers and advocates around the state of Medicaid, the future of Medicaid and the tools in making a difference for the millions of people dependent on Medicaid.

Future of Medicaid Innovation Forum 2019

Over 500 people joined us on January 8, 2019 for our Future of Medicaid Innovation Forum at the Glide Foundation. Held during J.P. Morgan Health Care week, our Forum featured a keynote fireside chat with Secretary Mandy Cohen of the DHHS North Carolina and Dr. Sachin Jain, CEO of CareMore Health and moderated by Dr. Greg Buchert. CEO of Promise Health Plan (BSCA). It also featured a presentation by Darin Gordon (CEO, Speire Healthcare Strategies), presented on CHCF’s PRIMED Roundtable event findings. To close things out, Dr. Molly Coye of AVIA moderated an innovator panel featuring HT4M members Leah Sparks (Wildflower Health), Gil Addo (RubiconMD), Iyah Romm (Cityblock Health), and Manik Bhat (Healthify).

This year our event focused on the partnership needed between policy makers, implementers, and tech entrepreneurs to create a better Medicaid experience for America’s vulnerable populations. We know there’s a great opportunity for tech companies to innovate in the Medicaid space, and our Forum brought to light ways to thoughtfully approach innovation with the goal of creating solutions that work for all stakeholders. Throughout the 90 minute session, our speakers touched on the needs of both Medicaid beneficiaries and Medicaid decision makers.
