HealthTech 4 Medicaid (HT4M) and the Reproductive Health Initiative for Telehealth Equity and Solutions (RHITES) co-hosted “Advancing Equity in Telehealth: State Medicaid Strategies for Reproductive Health Care” in Washington, D.C. on November 13, 2024.

This powerful convening brought together state Medicaid leaders, telehealth medication abortion (TMAB) providers, reproductive justice advocates, and key stakeholders to address challenges and opportunities in expanding equitable access to TMAB for Medicaid populations. Together, participants explored policy and programmatic solutions to drive change and increase access to care.

Key themes included the urgent need for a unified, multi-faceted strategy that pairs technical innovations—like digital inclusion—with advocacy efforts grounded in lived experience and data. Attendees emphasized that addressing reimbursement and payment parity challenges is essential to ensure that Medicaid beneficiaries fully benefit from emerging policies and care models.

The conversation reinforced that achieving sustainable and inclusive healthcare outcomes requires integrating diverse strategies and leveraging the collective strengths of cross-sector collaborators.
