On Thursday, May 30th, HealthTech 4 Medicaid (HT4M) hosted the second installment of our "Medicaid Insights" series, titled "Medicaid Insights: Birthing Equity." This insightful webinar addressed the systemic challenges contributing to inequitable birthing outcomes and emphasized the urgent need for transformative approaches to achieve birthing health equity.
The discussion featured distinguished panelists, including Adimika Meadows Arthur, CEO & Executive Director of HT4M; Rachel Nicks, CEO & Founder of Birth Queen; Lauren Elliot, CEO & Founder of Candlelit Care; Priya Bathija, CEO & Founder of Nyoo Health; and Alli Cuentos, Director & Co-Founder of SisterWeb San Francisco Community Doula Network.
As Medicaid covers over 40% of births in the United States and serves as the largest source of public funding for family planning services, this webinar delved into the inequities in birthing health related to policy, mental health, and doula care. It highlighted the systemic challenges faced in our nation's birthing practices and showcased the efforts of our panelists to address and mitigate these issues.”
